BOOK OF AGES

Next month, we will be reading and discussing Book of Ages: The Life and Opinions of Jane Franklin by Jill Lepore at our Antemeridians Book Club meeting.  Jane Franklin was the youngest sister of Benjamin Franklin.  She was a reader, writer, and political commentator.  However, unlike her brother, she never had the opportunities to participate in the development of the United States' evolution.  Instead, she spent her time raising children and corresponding with her brother.

AWARE in Evansville's Diversity and Inclusion Scavenger Hunt

Come on in and take a look, here you'll find your favorite book!  Code: 2793

Not sure about that clue and code?  We'll fill you in...it was the first clue and code for AWARE in Evansville's Diversity and Inclusion scavenger hunt.  We are very excited to be partnering with AWARE on the scavenger hunt, and we had a lot of fun being the first answer to the clue!  If you missed out on the first week, you have plenty of other opportunities to join in.

Each week the location of the lock box will change.  AWARE will release the weekly lockbox clues and codes on Sundays at 5:00 PM on their Facebook page.  Once you find the lockbox, you will need to enter the 4-digit code to access the packet inside.  The packet includes activity sheets, a game, and a raffle ticket.  The raffle tickets can be submitted into the Weekly Raffle box that is kept at the library near the Youth Services desk.  Entries from the Weekly Raffle will also be entered into the Grand Prize box.  On Monday, August 10, AWARE will hold the Grand Prize drawing.

Want to earn some extra raffle tickets?  You're in luck!

  • Check out and return a book featured on AWARE's reading list.  They are out on display at the library.  You will receive 1 ticket for every book you read and return.
  • Bring your completed activity sheets and enter them into the Grand Prize drawing box.
