A BOY IN WINTER



We will be reading and discussing A Boy in Winter by Rachel Seiffert at our February book club meeting.  This novel takes place in a small Ukrainian town.  One morning, the town is overrun by the SS.  The book takes place over the three days that follow, and it shows how lives are affected by this event.

Skeletons at the Feast by Chris Bohjalian - Skeletons at the Feast takes place towards the end of World War II and follows a small group of people as they attempt to travel from Warsaw to the Rhine in order to reach the British and American lines.

The Boy in the Striped Pajamas by John Boyne - Bruno's family relocates from Berlin to a place called "Out-With" when his Nazi officer father is transferred.  While adjusting to life in his new home, Bruno befriends a boy in striped pajamas who lives behind a wire fence.
