What is a graphic novel? In the simplest of terms, a graphic novel is a book that is made up of comic panels. A graphic novel can be one story, or it can be made up of anthologized works.
There are original graphic novels, adaptations of classic novels, and adaptations of current bestsellers. There are even graphic novels that are nonfiction! Some of the most recognizable names of graphic novels include Watchmen, Maus, and The Dark Knight Returns.
