AUTHOR SPOTLIGHT: KATE MORTON

Looking for a new author to keep you busy?  This week's post is all about Kate Morton.  Born in Australia, Kate attended Trinity College in London where she originally pursued a career in theatrer before landing on a career in writing.  Morton's novels have been bestsellers worldwide and have been published in over 30 languages.  For more information on Kate Morton, visit https://www.katemorton.com/.

The Clockmaker's Daughter 
Taking place in the mid-1800s, a group of young artists stay at Birchwood Manor.  They plan to spend some time lost in inspiration and creativity.  This group is led by Edward Radcliffe.  By the end of their stay at the manor, one woman has been killed while another has disappeared, a priceless heirloom is missing, and Edward's life is in ruins.  Fast forward over 100 years later, and Elodie Winslow uncovers a bag containing a photograph and a drawing.  Who is the woman in the photograph, and why does Birchwood Manor feel familiar to Elodie?

The Distant Hours

The Forgotten Garden
A young child is abandoned a ship headed for Australia in 1913.  When she arrives, she is alone with nothing but a suitcase.  She is taken in by the dockmaster's family and raised as their own.  Then, on her 21st birthday, she learns the truth and her life is shattered.  The story follows Nell as she tries to piece her story together and find her real identity.  Upon her death, it is up to her granddaughter to solve the mystery.

The House at Riverton
Set in England between the two world wars, this story centers on a death that occurred at a party in the Hartford family's home.  Told as a flashback, this is the story of a young woman's growing up during a pivotal moment in time.
