Back to School Books!

Much as the weather would have us NOT believe it, the school year is just around the corner! Make going back to school an event with one of these fantastic school-themed picture books for preschoolers – late elementary school (let’s face it – I still love many of these stories!).

Here’s a roundup of our favorite school stories:

• Lilly’s Purple Plastic Purse by Kevin Henkes.
• Miss Bindergarten Gets Ready for Kindergarten by Joseph Slate, illustrated by Ashley Wolff.
• If You Take a Mouse to School by Laura Joffe Numeroff, illustrated by Felicia Bond.

Of course, there are so many good chapter books about school too, there’s almost too many to list! Here’s a sampling of some favorite school-oriented book series we have in our library:
