Jamie's book is called Boom! Boom! Boom! and it's about a child who goes to bed on a stormy night with a teddy bear and a book, but is soon joined by a dog, a cat, and more until there's no more room! The lively text and fun illustrations by David Walker make this a charming story to share with your little ones, and the rhyming, rhythmic text makes it a soothing story for bedtime (especially on a stormy night!).
To celebrate Jamie's visit to Eager Free, I thought it'd be fun to post a little roundup of some other books about bedtime that we have here in the library.
The following titles can be found right in our handy BEDTIME bin in the red picture book section:
- The Bear in the Book by Kate Banks, pictures by Georg Hallensleben.
- Sleepy, Oh So Sleepy by Denise Fleming.
- Interrupting Chicken by David Ezra Stein.
- Shhhhh! Everybody's Sleeping by Julie Markes, pictures by David Parkins.
- Dinosaur vs. Bedtime by Bob Shea.
- And If the Moon Could Talk by Kate Banks, pictures by Georg Hallensleben.
- Goodnight Moon by Margaret Wise Brown, pictures by Clement Hurd.
- Someone's Sleepy by Deborah Lee Rose, pictures by Dan Andreasen.
- Bedtime for Frances by Russell Hoban, pictures by Garth Williams.
- The Little Fur Family by Margaret Wise Brown, pictures by Garth Williams. (Note: this is located in the aqua browsing bin!)
I hope you can join us for stories and activities with Jamie this Wednesday at our usual preschool storytime: 10:00 a.m. in the downstairs program room!
